Buy the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 if you want one 1 kWh station that keeps a fridge and essentials running through a short outage and refills fast. It recharges from the wall in about 49 minutes, runs 2,000W loads, and won our SGA Best for Beginners 2026 award. Which to buy: Gen 2 for nearly everyone — about 3.5 lb lighter, 200W more output, a bigger surge rating and more rated cycles. Gen 1 only makes sense if you specifically want to add the BP1000 battery later (roughly doubling capacity) and find it well discounted.

Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 Solar Input: How Many Panels?
The solar ceiling is 600W across an 11–60V input, so about 3 × 200W panels reach it. Watch the voltage: three typical 200W panels wired in series can exceed 60V open-circuit, so they usually need to be wired in parallel. At about 70% real-world panel output, a full refill takes roughly 2.4 peak sun-hours; two 200W panels stretch that to about 3.7.
