Costco Solar Generator: What They Sell vs What to Buy Instead (2026)
During 2026, Costco US has listed portable power stations from Anker SOLIX, EcoFlow, Jackery, and Bluetti (plus Yoshino) — mostly as bundles with solar panels or chargers, and often as Costco-only “X” variants. Are those bundles the best value? Sometimes. Costco's selection rotates, and online listings change faster than in-warehouse stock, so treat this as a snapshot. Based on our review of Costco's off-grid living category (checked October 2026), Costco US has listed these power station brands during 2026:

- Bluetti — AC500 with a B300K expansion battery.
- Yoshino — A smaller brand that has also appeared in Costco's listings.
What's missing: we found no Pecron listings, no standalone portable solar panels (panels show up almost entirely inside power-station bundles), and no home solar or battery installation service (Costco's long-running Sunrun rooftop-solar partnership ended in 2024 — details below). Costco also lists gas generators such as Champion; this guide covers battery power stations only.
Membership matters: warehouse shopping requires a membership. On costco.com, non-members pay a 5% surcharge, and member-only items can't be purchased by non-members at all (Costco customer service).
Does Costco Sell Solar Panels?
Short answer: only portable panels, and mostly inside power-station bundles. Costco doesn't currently sell or install rooftop solar in the US, and in our October 2026 review of its listings we found no standalone portable panels — the panels Costco sells come packaged with a power station.

The portable panels at Costco ship as part of a kit: a 200W panel with the Anker SOLIX C1000X Gen 2, a 400W panel with the C2000X Gen 2, a Jackery 100Air with the Explorer 1500 v2, two 100W Mini panels with the Explorer 2000, and so on. Costco has also sold other brand bundles with panels for limited periods — for example an EcoFlow WAVE 2 portable air conditioner bundle with an add-on battery and two 160W panels offered to members through Costco Next in spring 2025 (Slickdeals listing). Costco Solar System: Does Costco Still Offer Home Solar?
Not through a current partner that we could verify. For more than a decade Costco members could get rooftop solar through Sunrun, which ran sales kiosks in Costco warehouses. In September 2024, Sunrun disclosed that the two companies had mutually agreed to end the sales partnership, with Sunrun winding down its warehouse presence by December 31, 2024 (Bloomberg; Seeking Alpha; TipRanks/The Fly). We found no replacement US rooftop-solar partner announced since. Some older articles still describe the Sunrun “Costco Shop Card” offer as current — treat those as out of date. For a whole-home system today, get quotes from local installers; for backup without installation, a large power station kit (below) is the Costco-adjacent option.
Costco Solar Battery Options
Costco's “solar batteries” are portable power stations and expandable home-backup kits, not installed wall batteries. The largest listings we found are battery systems you charge from solar panels or the grid: the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 and Delta Pro Ultra, the Anker SOLIX F3800 7,680Wh kit and 6 kWh F3000 kit, the Bluetti AC500 with a B300K expansion battery, and the Jackery 5000 Plus kit. Several can connect to a home panel through the maker's transfer switch or smart panel, which typically requires a licensed electrician — Costco doesn't provide that installation. Costco Return Policy on Generators and Power Stations
Short answer: Costco's satisfaction guarantee covers most merchandise, and portable power stations aren't on its 90-day electronics list — but battery, freight, and special-order rules can apply, so check the listing. Here's exactly what we could verify:
- General policy: Costco's official policy is a “Risk-Free 100% Satisfaction Guarantee” on the products it sells, subject to listed exceptions (Costco return policy). For most merchandise there's no fixed return deadline (GOBankingRates).
- The 90-day electronics rule: televisions, projectors, major appliances, computers, tablets, smart wearables, cameras, drones, camcorders, MP3 players, and cell phones must be returned within 90 days of receipt. Generators and portable power stations are not named on that list (Costco; SlashGear).
- Batteries: Costco says products with a limited useful life, “such as tires and batteries,” may come with a product-specific limited warranty instead of the standard terms (Costco). Costco doesn't say whether that applies to power stations, which is why the individual listing matters.
- Large freight-delivered items (such as whole-home kits) follow Costco's separate freight-return process rather than a warehouse drop-off (Costco).
- Online returns: online purchases can be returned at any warehouse or started on costco.com (Costco support). “Generators” do appear on a list of items that can't be returned online — but in the Special Order Kiosk category, alongside countertops, HVAC, and solar installations (GOBankingRates). That refers to kiosk-ordered installed generators; we couldn't find an official Costco statement on online returns of portable power stations specifically.
What to do: before buying, open the “Shipping & Returns” details on the specific costco.com product page, keep the box and every bundled accessory (panels, cables, chargers), and if anything is unclear, ask member services. Costco's free second-year warranty extension on certain products doesn't name power stations (Costco), so the manufacturer's warranty is what covers you long term.
